i'm standing at the edge
and i know what is ahead
and i know what is behind
which is all the more reason to find
the courage to move forward.
but it is here that I fear
so near that I can hear
the sound of the waves crashing
and the earth moving
just beneath my feet
but to speak of going back
is more frightening than the lack
of courage that i need to move forward.
so i'm standing at the edge
waiting for the right moment
to forget
that i was ever too afraid to move forward.
